The Adventure Room

The last project of the summer! After living in this house for a year, I finally got around to making the room nice for the kids. I immediately was inspired by this idea when I saw an AZTEC comforter on target.com. I ended up ordering different blankets but it sparked my interest and soon I was on pinterest collecting tons of ideas. I pretty much got every look I wanted in the room with the help of Linda, Jake and Jess Nelson. I used the quote from Winnie the Pooh " As soon as I saw you I knew an adventure was going to happen" because I love how close Zoey and Logan are and how much fun  they have being young together.
-Jake and I made the teepee and we got the stick from Monkey Ikes apple tree.
-The rug is an outdoor rug that was on clearance for $26 at target.com.
-I ordered the prints off Etsy and bought $5 frames from IKEA
- We bought the bunk bed from Walmart.com for $287. It's great and can be converted into two singles. I am really happy with the quality
- I couldn't even tell you what the paint color is because Linda and I are pretty sure the lady mixed it wrong a few times and were pleasantly surprised with how great the color came out on the wall. It was more mint than light blue and i love it!
- Jess drew a painted the feather for me after looking at some like it on pinterest. She made it just as  envisioned it!!
- Linda helped with the arrows, the awesome deer head, the pillows cases and the prints on Zoey's wall. She always makes exactly what I was thinking!!
- The mountains are a partical board that we painted with grey acrylic paint and then used clear chalk board paint over so the kids can draw on them.
- We bought the cubbies at walmart. I think they were about $37 dollars each and the bins were $5 each
- I bought the comforters at Target.com for $18 each and the blue lamp to match was from target for $19 and the curtain too for $15 each?
- I cut the paw prints out myself on my silhouette. Linda made the file for me.
- Linda and I made the chevron garland and cut the pieces on the silhouette cameo and I sewed the pieces together.
- I made the mountain pillow and the dream catcher.

I am in love with the room and so glad it came out so great! It is so rewarding to create something like this and so fun to get crafty and creative and find great prices to makeover a room. The room before was soooooo bad. I should have taken a before picture. Well... they better like this room for at least a few years because I'm not changing it for a long long time!

The room was pretty much my offical end to summer. We finished it on the last night of summer as Jess and my mom were coming back into town.  It was a good summer and a great year!!

A Puppy for Grandma

Every since we lost Linkin, I know my mom has been wanting a little dog to keep her company. With my dad now trucking and gone so much I knew a puppy would be perfect for her birthday. She drove from New York to Utah with Jess and Charly and when I saw this cute puppy for sale on KSL I jumped on it! Within an hour of contacting the lady we had this cute puppy visitor while we waited for Grandma to come out! We called him an array of names the time he was at our house....max, ralph, puppy, snowflake. My mom ended up naming him Henry after her dad. He really loved Jake right away and overall was such a good little guy, doing so good at going potty outside and was cuddly and playful. Zoey fell head over heels. She pulled him on his leash all over the place. She can't wait until she can have her own puppy and I can't wait to bring a sweet puppy into our family. Now...not really the time with the baby and our busy schedules but in a few years and I really can't wait!!

Piper's Thunder Thighs!

In Love with this little girl's cute chubbiness!!!!!

Phamily Camping

The Phamily campout was up Spanish Fork canyon this year. A small crowd of us, the Liddiards, Beagle, Fraizer and Justin Barrett (and Tori). We had some crazy weather Friday night and I thought our tent was going to blow away! I was FREEZING the entire night but the kids slept like champs! By 5:30am I just gave up and got up and drove down the canyon and found a Walmart and loaded up on warm clothes for everyone! We went to the little lake that was right by the camp. Everyone tried out some fishing, but with no luck. Saturday night the Draper's came up as well as Devin. It was a good trip catching up with friends and being outside. Next year is our year to plan the reunion. I've gotta get thinking of something awesome to put together!

After Church Cuties!

All looking, all smiling, all in blue!! Love these sweeties!

Fireworks At Watergardens

I came home at 9:30 and said.... Jake, they are doing fireworks at 10pm at Watergardens Theatre, wanna go?" and in 5 min we were in the car! It was Piper's first fireworks and she really watched! The kids loved it and I am really glad we went, because it wouldn't have been summer without seeing Fireworks!!

Proof You Have Kids

Logan's Legos! Naturally they would be in the fridge!! Duh...they are in a ricotta cheese container!!

A Night At Sundance

A lady in the ward was giving away tickets to hear the Utah Symphony play at Sundance and we jumped at the chance to go. We thought there would definitely be food there but nope.... just this bread and butter which was actually delicious though. The baby was really good and it was a lovely night. It was as close to Tanglewood as it's gonna get out here in Utah!!

Strawberry Days 2015

I love Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days!! I was really looking forward to it this year, and feeling more ready to get out in public places and to have some fun! I couldn't help but make some cute dresses for the girls because there are only so many more years that they will be down with me dressing them up AND matching! This was my first clothing project that I've really ever completed. I kind of winged it and was sooo pleased with how adorable they looked on the girls!

We did the typical festivities.....going on rides, going to the rodeo (new this year and not super successful with a baby), the parade and Huck Finn Days. I really love the community in Pleasant Grove. American Fork STEEL DAYS just doesn't sound as cute and doesn't really make the cutest sounded dress. haha.
